Electromagnetism and Light Reinterpreted through R-Theory From Maxwell's Fields to Resonance in the Zero Field

This paper presents a resonance-based reinterpretation of electromagnetism within the framework of R-theory. Classical physics describes light as electromagnetic waves governed by Maxwell’s equations, while quantum electrodynamics (QED) models photons as massless quanta mediating interactions. R-theory offers a unified alternative: electrons are resonance nodes in the coherent zero field, and photons are not fundamental particles but propagating field oscillations that always travel at c—the intrinsic resonance velocity of the zero field. In this view, electromagnetic interactions arise through phase-locking between resonance nodes and propagating oscillations. This approach preserves Maxwell’s predictive power while reframing E and B fields as resonance modes rather than ontological entities. The reinterpretation naturally connects electromagnetism to gravity and the double-slit experiment, integrating three fundamental interactions into a single resonant ontology. Predictions include novel insights into vacuum phenomena (Casimir effect, Lamb shift, spontaneous emission), coherence effects in superconductors and Bose–Einstein condensates, and a photonless interpretation of electromagnetic coupling.
