THE ROLE OF BIOTECHNOLOGY IN FOOD SECURITY UNDER WATER SCARCITY CONDITIONS
In recent years, global water scarcity and climate change have become serious threats to food security. According to UN data, by 2050 the world population will exceed 9.7 billion, which will dramatically increase pressure on water resources in agriculture. Biotechnology is an effective tool in solving this problem, by creating drought-resistant crops, producing biofertilizers and biopesticides, and expanding food preservation opportunities. This article theoretically analyzes the advantages of biotechnology in the field of food security.
