DEVIANT BEHAVIOR IN THE STUDENT COMMUNITY: PERCEPTIONS AND SOCIAL PRACTICES
This article explores the social and psychological causes of deviant behavior within student communities, examining how it emerges and is managed across different cultural contexts. Drawing on Durkheim and Merton’s theories, the paper highlights the link between deviance, structural inequalities, and goal–means disjunctions. It analyzes key contributing factors such as family dysfunction, psychological stress, peer influence, and educational constraints. The study also compares preventive, supportive, and rehabilitative practices implemented in various countries to address deviant behavior among students.
