Tannic Acid‐Assisted Synthesis of Amorphous Carbon‐Coated Heterostructured SnS/SnO 2 Nanosheet Arrays for Enhanced Sodium Storage Properties

Tin sulfide (SnS) has garnered increasing attention as a promising candidate for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). However, its practical application is severely restricted by the inherently low electronic conductivity, substantial volume variation during the sodiation/desodiation process, and continuous pulverization during cycling. To address these issues, this study presents a tannic acid‐assisted method for synthesizing in situ amorphous carbon‐coated SnS/SnO 2 nanosheet arrays supported on carbon cloth (denoted as SnS/SnO 2 @C). The binder‐free SnS/SnO 2 @C anode utilized in SIBs achieves a remarkable specific capacity of 937 mAh g −1 at 0.2 A g −1 , along with good cycling stability of 392 mAh g −1 at 0.5 A g −1 after 200 cycles. The enhanced sodium storage properties arises from the synergistic effects of heterostructure construction, carbon encapsulation, and binder‐free architecture, which collectively contribute to improved electronic conductivity, facilitated interfacial electron/ion transport, and enhanced structural integrity.
