ANALISIS PENGARUH DILATASI BANGUNAN PADA GEDUNG 6 LANTAI BERDENAH L TERHADAP GEMPA DENGAN METODE RESPON SPEKTRA

Indonesia is one of the countries with a high frequency of seismic activity. The earthquakes that occur in Indonesia are caused by the vertical movement of two continental plates: the Indo-Australian and Eurasian plates. Furthermore, the island of Java is characterised by a multitude of active faults, which serve to elevate the risk of seismic activity in the region. Given the high potential for earthquakes in this region, it is crucial to prioritize earthquake-resistant construction planning, including the incorporation of dilatation techniques to mitigate seismic impacts. This research aims to elucidate the influence of building dilatation on a six-story L-plan structure subjected to seismic forces and ascertain the optimal dilatation gap distance for the Faculty of Engineering Building Center. The research method entails the analysis of the building structure using the ETABS program, with a comparison between structures with and without dilatation. The parameters analyzed include structural vibration period, inter-storey deviation, base shear force, and torsional irregularity. The calculation of the dilatation gap distance is carried out in accordance with the requirements of SNI 1726:2019. The findings of the analysis demonstrate that the implementation of dilatation in L-shaped buildings markedly influences the structural response to earthquake loads. The model with stiffer dilatation exhibited a smaller structural period of vibration and more restrained inter-storey deviation, while the model with more flexible dilatation demonstrated a larger period of vibration and larger inter-storey deviation. The safe dilatation gap distance of the Building Center building of the Faculty of Engineering was calculated to be 26 mm.
