Improving Open Science for Heliophysics at HDRL
A high level update on the efforts towards improving open science for Heliophysics at the Heliophysics Digital Resource Library. Sections of the poster include research efforts in publication transparency with discovered gaps in citation and metadata infrastructure, progress towards developing a Levels of Service policy for NASA SMD Heliophysics mission and research artifacts, progress towards finalizing our responses to the desirable characteristics listed in NASA's SPD-41a appendix D, and efforts to improve metadata structures specific to Heliophysics (e.g., improved mappings from SPASE 2.x to DataCite and Schema.org, development progress on SPASE 3.0, and general metadata quality improvements). This poster was presented at the Open Source Science Data Repositories Workshop 2025 (https://science.data.nasa.gov/features-events/data-repositories-workshop-2025).
