ON ART APPRECIATION: AN AESTHETIC JOURNEY FROM PERCEPTUAL INTUI-TION TO RATIONAL DECONSTRUCTION
Abstract Art appreciation is a advanced, complex aesthetic re-creative activity for humans. It is far more than simply "looking" and "liking," but rather a multidimensional and dynamic process that integrates perceptual experience, rational cognition, cultural interpretation, and emotional resonance. This paper aims to systematically explore the essence of art appreciation, analyzing its complete process from intuitive sensory reception to deep cultural and historical deconstruction. The article will first define the core connotations of art appreciation, then delve into an analysis of its four key dimensions: perception, emotion, cognition, and understanding. On this basis, the paper will discuss various methodological tools for appreciation, such as formal analysis, iconology, historical context, and psychoanalytic criticism, and elaborate on the important value of art appreciation at the levels of personal cultivation, cultural transmission, and social critique. Finally, the paper will also confront the challenges posed by contemporary art, arguing for the necessity of constructing an open, dialogical paradigm of appreciation within a multicultural context.
