Architectural Ornamentation of the Sidi Kacem Al- Jellizi Monument
The Mausoleum of Sidi Kacem Al-Jallizi is a Tunisian historical and archaeological monument distinguished by the richness of its decorative surfaces and the presence of a ceramic tile collection spanning from the 15th to the 19th century. Through a typological and chronological analysis, this article aims to shed light on the evolution of decorative techniques and the heritage-related challenges posed by successive restoration campaigns. It also seeks to identify Hispano-Moorish influences, the persistence of Hafsid traditions, and the emergence of Ottoman art during a later period.
