NEURAL NETWORKS AND THEIR IMPACT ON CONTEMPORARY AUDIOVISUAL ART

Abstract This article explores the impact of neural networks, a core component of artificial intelligence (AI), on the development of contemporary audiovisual art, with a focus on photography. Neural networks are shown to not only automate image processing but also generate new forms of artistic expression and expand the creative capabilities of artists. The analysis includes recent research highlighting the role of generative AI in enhancing creativity, design quality, and artistic thinking. Practical applications such as computational photography, image stylization, and intelligent filters are examined, as well as the work of contemporary artists Mario Klingemann, Refik Anadol, and Anna Ridler, who integrate AI into their artistic practice. The study concludes that neural networks serve as both a technical tool and a cognitive partner in artistic processes, shaping a new visual language in the digital age.
