The Role of Context in Shaping Tech Literacy: A Personal Perspective from Remote Regions
Digital literacy is often assumed to be universal, yet local context significantly shapes how individuals interact with technology. Growing up and working in remote regions presents unique challenges and opportunities compared to urban environments. This paper explores personal experiences and recent studies to highlight how infrastructure limitations, access to digital tools, and socio-economic factors influence technology adoption and skill development. Exposure to global technology, even if limited, can enhance digital literacy, reduce the digital gap, and empower communities in remote areas.
