Arquivo pessoal Ubiratan D’Ambrosio (APUA): aspectos do processo de institucionalização da educação matemática como campo de pesquisa no Brasil

This text deals with personal archives as sources of historical research. In particular, it considers the personal archives of mathematics teachers. It takes as a reference the Ubiratan D’Ambrosio Personal Archive (APUA). From this archive, it analyzes part of the letters written and received by D’Ambrosio. It takes references from Cultural History and the Sociology of Knowledge as its theoretical framework. It concludes that this documentation makes it possible to explain aspects of the process of institutionalizing Mathematics Education in Brazil as a field of research.
