Method of Relative Permeance Calculation in Teeth Zone of Homopolar Inductor Alternator

This article proposes a method for obtaining the relative permeance in the teeth zone of homopolar inductor alternator (HIA). The dependence of the relative permeance on the rotor rotation angle is calculated using the shape and relative dimensions of the teeth zone. This allows obtaining the magnitude and waveform of the EMF of an HIA, where theresults are also expressed in relative, i.e., in conditional units. The use of relative units allows for comparative quantitative analysis between various tooth zone variants, eliminating the influence of the design features of a particular machine as well as without resorting to a full electromagnetic calculation of the HIA.
