OAIS™: An Operating System for AI-Native Computing

Artificial Intelligence has advanced into daily use, yet its deployment remains constrained by infrastructures designed for traditional computing. Current systems rely heavily on cloud platforms, which produce three systemic limitations: dependence on external vendors, loss of data sovereignty, and an inability for AI to retain memory. Stateless architectures reduce intelligence to short-lived outputs, breaking continuity and trust.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence has advanced into daily use, yet its deployment remains constrained by infrastructures designed for traditional computing. Current systems rely heavily on cloud platforms, which produce three systemic limitations: dependence on external vendors, loss of data sovereignty, and an inability for AI to retain memory. Stateless architectures reduce intelligence to short-lived outputs, breaking continuity and trust.
