Robust Fault Tolerance in Distributed Command and Control Systems through Adaptive Consensus-Based Redundancy Management
**Abstract:** This paper proposes a novel architecture for achieving robust fault tolerance in distributed command and control (C&C) systems, specifically targeting the pervasive challenges of intermittent network connectivity and node failures inherent in real-world deployments. Our system, termed Adaptive Consensus-Based Redundancy Management (ACRM), dynamically adjusts redundancy levels based on real-time network conditions and node health, leveraging a decentralized consensus protocol to ensure consistency and seamless failover. Unlike traditional static redundancy schemes, ACRM minimizes resource overhead while maintaining a high level of system resilience, improving overall operational efficiency and reliability. The design is immediately commercializable, with potential applications spanning industrial automation, robotics coordination, and smart grid management.
