Il ritorno della varicella che "destabilizza"
Chickenpox is generally considered a benign childhood disease caused by varicella-zoster virus (VZV). However, in some cases, the infection may be associated with potentially serious complications, such as neurologic manifestations. The main forms of clinical expression of neurological involvement during VZV infection are acute cerebellitis (more frequent) and encephalitis. Encephalitis usually presents with frontal and temporal localization or vasculitic involvement. The paper presents a case of a 6-year-old child with an atypical localization of varicella encephalitis.
