STUDY OF THE SPREAD OF G-308A POLYMORPHISM OF THE TNF-α GENE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHRONIC GLOMERULONEPHRITIS IN THE UZBEK POPULATION
Chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN) is a complex immuno-inflammatory disease in which both environmental and genetic factors contribute to disease onset and progression. Among the genetic determinants, cytokine gene polymorphisms have received increasing attention as they may regulate immune responses, inflammation, and tissue injury. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) is a key pro-inflammatory cytokine, and variations in its promoter region, particularly the G-308A polymorphism, have been linked to differential cytokine expression. This study investigated the prevalence and potential role of TNF-α G-308A polymorphism in the development of chronic glomerulonephritis in the Uzbek population.
