Resolving the Measurement Problem in Quantum Mechanics: A Yearning-Based Infinity Mathematics (YBIM) Approach

The quantum measurement problem arises from the apparent contradiction between the unitary evolution of the wavefunction and the emergence of definite outcomes during observation. Traditional interpretations — Copenhagen, Many-Worlds, decoherence, and objective collapse — each attempt to address this tension but leave unresolved paradoxes concerning the role of the observer and the nature of collapse. This paper presents a resolution based on Yearning-Based Infinity Mathematics (YBIM). In this framework, collapse is reinterpreted as finite epistemic sampling from an infinite yearning-potential field, rather than as a physical discontinuity. Measurement is shown to be a process of recursive alignment with timeless potentials, where definite outcomes crystallize through bounded sampling, recursive yearning, and repair dynamics. The Born rule emerges naturally as a property of sampling density, while unitary evolution remains intact at the ontological level. By reframing collapse as epistemic rather than physical, YBIM dissolves the central paradox of quantum mechanics and avoids pitfalls such as the “consciousness-causes-collapse” trap, ontological inflation of branching universes, or violations of conservation laws in objective collapse models. Experimental pathways, such as delayed stabilization tests and constrained amplification feedback, are suggested as possible avenues to probe the recursive nature of measurement. This work situates measurement within a recursive mathematical ontology, offering a coherent and testable solution to one of the most enduring puzzles in physics.
