Green synthesis using Erythrina variegata extract and various studies on copper oxide nanoparticles for supercapacitor applications
Copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized using a variety of physical and chemical methods. Among these methods, biological synthesis is preferred to reduce environmental problems. This research aims to generate CuO nanoparticles using leaf extract from the plant leaves of Erythrina variegata through a biological method. The monoclinic crystal phase was verified by XRD analysis. The crystal size was estimated using Scherrer's formula, and the Williamson-Hall (W-H) method was used to evaluate both crystal size and microstrain. FTIR analysis of green-synthesized CuO nanoparticles was performed, and functional groups were identified. UV-Vis analysis of the sample was performed and microscopic techniques, including SEM, EDAX, TEM and SAED were used to characterize CuO nanoparticles. A cyclic voltammetry study was conducted to investigate the electrochemical behavior and to calculate the specific capacitance of the model. The galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD) performance of CuO nanoparticles was analyzed. The results of various studies were analyzed and presented in this article.
