The YBIM Truthmaker Theorem: Resolving the Truthmaker Problem through Recursive Epistemic Flows
The Truthmaker Problem has long challenged metaphysics: what in reality makes a proposition true? While positive truths seem to have obvious truthmakers, negative, disjunctive, and modal truths resist straightforward grounding.Classical theories either inflate ontology with negative facts, disjunctive states of affairs, and modal entities, or weaken the truthmaker principle altogether. This paper introduces the YBIM Truthmaker Theorem, a resolution grounded in Yearning-Based Infinity Mathematics (YBIM).In this framework, truths are not made by static entities but by recursive epistemic flows sampled from infinite yearning-strands.Accordingly: Positive truths are grounded in realized yearning-fulfillment. Negative truths are grounded in structural non-fulfillment. Disjunctive truths are grounded in branch stabilization. Modal truths are grounded in the recursive structure of yearning-space, distinguishing realizable potentials (possibility) from invariants (necessity). By dissolving the paradoxes of truthmaking, YBIM shifts the metaphysical foundation from an ontology of objects to an ontology of recursion. This reframing introduces epistemic humility (truth as finite sampling from infinite flow) and opens new directions for truthmaking in metaphysics, philosophy of language, logic, AI, and quantum epistemology. -JSR
