The Evolution of Canadian Arctic Policies
“The Evolution of Canadian Arctic Strategies” analyzes the Canadian Arctic from a geopolitical perspective, examining the positions taken by Canadian governments from 2006 to the present: from viewing the Arctic solely as a place to exercise sovereignty, to recognizing it as an opportunity for social and economic development, furthering the path of reconciliation with Indigenous populations, and ultimately returning to seeing it as a site for asserting national identity - a strategic northern stronghold not only for Canada but also for its NATO allies.
