Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Nanoparticle-based and Biotechnological Therapeutics in Pulmonary Diseases
This systematic review and meta-analysis summarizes and evaluates studies published between 2014–2025 on nanoparticle-based and biotechnological therapeutics for pulmonary diseases, including ARDS, COPD, and acute lung injury. The review analyzes preclinical and clinical evidence regarding delivery strategies, efficacy, safety, and potential translational applications. The accompanying supplementary Excel file contains full data extraction from 25 studies, including intervention types, experimental models, endpoints, and quantitative outcomes. Key findings indicate that inhalable lipid and peptide nanoparticles improve pulmonary targeting, reduce inflammation, and enhance functional lung outcomes. This resource provides a comprehensive dataset for researchers and supports future meta-analyses and comparative studies in nanomedicine and pulmonary therapy.
