Screening Framework for Identifying Factors Influencing Brownfield Redevelopment Based on Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract: This study conducts a bibliometric analysis to summarizes the characteristics of relevant literature on brownfield redevelopment retrieved from the Web of Science (WOS) database. Using CiteSpace, the analysis identifies key publishing countries, major brownfield types, research hotspots, and thematic research categories. Further content analysis is employed to interpret and summarize each major finding, leading to the construction of a screening framework for factors influencing brownfield redevelopment and the classification of relevant factor types. In addition, this study highlights the critical role of computer science in data analysis and the prediction of redevelopment potential. Compared to traditional literature review methods, bibliometric analysis enables the examination of a large body of literature and reveals current research patterns and emerging trends. This approach is particularly suitable for identifying influencing factors across different disciplines and research domains. Therefore, the findings aim to determine the key regions, research types, and categories related to the factors influencing urban brownfield redevelopment based on bibliometric analysis. The findings aim to develop a comprehensive framework of factor categories influencing urban brownfield redevelopment, providing a solid foundation for future evaluations of key determinants and the construction of predictive models for redevelopment potential. The findings also seek to support policymakers and stakeholders in better understanding and addressing the complex challenges associated with urban brownfield regeneration, thereby contributing to future research efforts.
