Supplementary Information on spreadsheet "20250904-Standardized-class-v11", containing data and parameters of 400 samples described in the paper "Induced polarization of clay-rich materials. 6. The case of soils and unconsolidated sediments" submitte

The following table contains a brief description of each column located in the sheet ‘Data’. The sheet ‘Sediment descriptions’ provides additional information on the lithological classification and characteristics used to describe the samples. Column Name Description A Batch Batch number of samples transported from The Netherlands to France. B Sample_ID ID of the samples. All samples start with an F, followed by a d (disturbed) or i (undisturbed). The 3-digit number refers to the location/depth, and an optional h refers to horizontal sampling. C Lithology A brief lithological description of the sample based on visual inspection of the samples in the lab and the field. D ID Soil The initial classification of the sample using Dutch lithological classes, based on visual inspection of the samples in the lab and the field. Not further used in the paper. E ID 4 class paper A resampling of the ID Soil classification into 4 main lithology classes, as used in the paper. Further explained in the sheet ‘Sediment descriptions’. Compared to column D (ID Soil), some modifications were made based on additional information (grainsize analyses, high resolution images, etc.). F AdmixedClasses Further explained in the sheet ‘Sediment descriptions’. G Special Further explained in the sheet ‘Sediment descriptions’. H PyritePresence Further explained in the sheet ‘Sediment descriptions’. I -Q Various names Measured data and inferred and used parameters for inferring (electrical) properties of samples. S – Z Various names Complex conductivity data and parameters at single salinity. AB - AI Various names Bulk and porewater conductivities, and calculated formation factors and surface conductivities based on the 3-point method. AK - AP Various names Other parameters calculated and used in the paper.
