El Señor de los Milagros
El Señor de los Milagros started as an important painting of Christ in Pachacamilla zone of Lima, Peru. The painting was famously made by an enslaved African within an area deeply connected to the Pre-Columbian Andean god of Pachacamac, with the painting being considered a representation of Christ as potentially African or Indigenous, with religious undertones of Pachacamac. While the painting itself is associated with many miracles and is highly mobile during religious rites, the Insigne Santuario Nacional y Monasterio de Las Nazarenas was established to house it.
