VERBAL MARKERS OF HIDDEN INTENTIONS IN EVERYDAY COMMUNICATION: A PSYCHOLINGUISTIC OVERVIEW
This paper explores the verbal markers that signal hidden intentions in everyday communication, integrating findings from psycholinguistics and discourse analysis. Hidden intentions—whether conscious or unconscious—are often subtly encoded in language through lexical choices, syntactic structures, intonation, and discourse strategies. Understanding these cues can aid in improving interpersonal communication, enhancing social intelligence, and contributing to fields such as forensic linguistics and artificial intelligence. This study adopts a psycholinguistic approach to examine how hidden intentions are conveyed and interpreted in conversational settings. The paper follows the IMRAD structure, presenting an overview of the theoretical background, methodological procedures, key findings, and conclusions with implications for further research. Keywords: hidden intentions, verbal markers, psycholinguistics, discourse, communication strategies
