Data and Scripts for Manuscript 'Thinking together, more than thinking twice, makes better data privacy judgments'
This repository contains the underlying data and scripts for the manuscript _'Thinking together, more than thinking twice, makes better data privacy judgments'_. **Data**Across two studies, participants rated the acceptability of data-sharing scenarios on 7-point Likert scales. Responses were collected via pen-and-paper. For conciseness reasons, a csv table containing the original responses is provided to represent the underlying data for each experiment. Access to participants' (digital) paper survey is happily provided upon request. The demographic data for both studies is provided as a separate csv file. During the experiments, the audio of in-person group discussions was recorded and transcribed. As per data ethics guidelines, the audio files were deleted upon successful transcription. The transcripts of the discussions are available as csv files (see folder 'transcripts_group_discussions'). **Scripts**There are five main scripts. 1. The '01-data-processing' script combines experimental raw data into a single csv file. 2. The '02-models_main_paper' script contains the code for figures 2 and 3 as well as the main statistical models used in the paper.3. The '03-demographics' script contains the code for running demographic analysis.4. The '04-models_supplementary' script contains the all statistical models referenced in the supplementary materials as well as the code to reconstruct the supplementary figures and tables.5. The '05-group_dynamic_analysis' script contains the group dynamic analysis which is referenced in the main paper and supplementary materials. Beware when running: do move the underlying transcripts into the 'transcripts_group_discussions' folder first.
