Negras imagens no semiárido: reposicionando sua produção de sentido

This article aims to discuss analytical strategies that enable the study of images of Afro-Indigenous people produced in counter-colonial contexts in the semi-arid territories of Bahia. We make use of concepts such as Améfrica Ladina and representation, and we will work with transmetodology, which has allowed for dialogue with self-referential methodologies in Afro-Indigenous epistemologies, specifically critical fabulation, proposed by Saidiya Hartman, and controlling images, by Patricia Hill Collins. We maintain a dialogue with Mauad and Veron through the reading of signs and the production of meaning. To this end, we will analyze images of three quilombola women. We sustain the following inquiry: in what ways can the images of these three Black activists signify “images of freedom”?.
