Negacionismo científico em pautas educacionais
In this article, we discuss some questions raised in a workshop held at the VI Regional Biology Teaching Meeting in Uberaba, MG, where we addressed the theme of confronting scientific denialism through the teaching of science and biology. To this end, the article proposes a dialogue with publications in science education that have focused on this subject from different angles. Concerning the role of education in defying denialism, the article also analyses the extent to which the Brazilian core curriculum aligned with future teacher programmes fulfils this challenge. From this perspective, the article shows that such curriculum guidelines focused on instruction training and skills development undermine science education as the learning of the socio-historical process of science and minimize the threats of scientific denialism.
