A trajetória da disciplina escolar Biologia

In order to answer the following question: how are the characteristic elements of the main Brazilian pedagogical ideas present in the teaching trajectory of the school subject Biology?, the objective of this work was to identify didactic-methodological elements of the main Brazilian pedagogical ideas in the teaching of Biology, in which concerns its establishment and organization as a subject for school teaching, in the light of historical-critical pedagogy (PHC). To this end, we sought support from major theorists in the teaching of Science and Biology, in order to articulate what is already established in the area with approaches related to the studies of Saviani (2008, 2010, 2012) and his revolutionary educational theory: the PHC. In summary, the trajectory of Biology as a school subject reveals a strong influence of the main Brazilian pedagogical ideas presented by Saviani (2008, 2010, 2012).
