Qualia as the Solution of Constraint Equations in the Brain

This work redefines qualia as the real-time solutions of constraint equations maintained within closed cranial environments. In rigid cavities such as the skull, eye, inner ear, and spinal canal, stable conditions allow multiple conservation laws to hold simultaneously. When sensory stimuli are introduced as variables, the brain generates unique solutions that manifest not as abstract numbers but as experiential forms—colors, sounds, and tactile qualities. The paper argues that qualia are not epiphenomenal illusions but necessary outcomes of structural stability, arising as geometric solutions within the framework of Closed Surface Theory. Loss of environmental invariance disrupts these solutions, leading to blurred perception or unconsciousness. This perspective unites neurophysiology, conservation principles, and closed-surface dynamics, providing a structural explanation for why consciousness emerges as lived experience rather than abstract computation.
