Climatology is highly important for the training of primary school students, as this topic covers several areas, such as health, agriculture, tourism, among others. During participation in PIBID it was noted that this subject is seen as uninteresting. The aim was to bring content closer together and provide greater autonomy for students, as stated in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Thus, ethnoclimatology based on popular sayings was used as a decolonial practice in education. As methodological procedures for the development of this work, there was a need for two classes, one explaining the climatology content, a brief explanation about ethnoclimatology and a conversation about popular sayings, in the second class the activity took place. Based on these procedures, students wrote popular sayings in a form created using Google Forms. With the delivery of the forms, there was a dialogue and the creation of a table with the students about the popular sayings that they found. This activity proved to be important and necessary to show students that the teacher is not the only holder of knowledge. This made it possible to construct popular and scientific knowledge, helping them understand this topic.
