OPERAS-PLUS and its efforts for bridging research & society - EC Policy Brief
This policy brief highlights how OPERAS Research Infrastructure advances open scholarly communication in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) through inclusive, participatory, and FAIR-aligned services. By combining platforms such as GoTriple, VERA, PRISM, and Pathfinder with multi-level, community-driven governance, OPERAS strengthens collaboration between researchers, societal actors, and policy makers. Its approach supports citizen science, multilingual discovery, and co-designed infrastructure, ensuring research outputs are accessible, socially relevant, and aligned with EU Open Science goals. The brief also outlines recommendations for long-term sustainability, participatory evaluation, and cross-sectoral engagement to foster systemic change in SSH research infrastructures. This policy brief is currently under review by the European Commission.
