THE POSSIBILITIES OF USING A NEW TYPE PHASE REGULATOR

This research addresses the development of a new type of phase regulating device capable of performing both phase regulation and phase conversion functions. The aim of the study is to determine the output parameters of this newly created device when applied to harmonic electrical oscillations. The proposed phase regulator allows continuous adjustment of harmonic phases within the range of 0° to 360° in a four-wire industrial frequency network. To analyze its operation, a mathematical model was constructed using nodal potential equations and the equivalent generator method. The scientific significance lies in the creation of a simple yet effective design that employs only a single circuit element, such as a variable resistor (rheostat, potentiometer) or, alternatively, a laboratory adjustable autotransformer (LATR). Depending on its configuration, the output can be single-phase, twophase, or three-phase, providing flexibility for different applications. The device was studied through mathematical modeling to evaluate its characteristics. The practical significance of the research is considerable: phase regulation is a highly relevant task in electrical engineering, power engineering, radio engineering, and automation. The proposed phase regulator can be effectively used in rectifier technology employing thyristors, in controlled shunt reactors, and in electric drives, where it offers advantages of simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and dual functionality.
