Tha tù trước thời hạn có điều kiện trong Bộ luật Hình sự năm 2015
Conditional parole is a new measure introduced in the 2015 Criminal Code (amended and supplemented in 2017, 2024, 2025), reflecting humanitarian principles and is the result of institutionalizing the Communist Party of Vietnam’s directive to “emphasize the effectiveness of prevention and rehabilitation in handling offenders” as outlined in Resolution No. 49-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the Judicial Reform Strategy to 2020. This new mechanism allows inmates serving sentences to undergo rehabilitation and education in a normal social environment. In practice, the provisions of conditional parole have proven to be appropriate, addressing the demands for crime prevention, offender rehabilitation and education. However, certain challenges in implementation remain, thus, consistent guidance from competent authorities are required.
