TRANSCENDING BOUNDARIES: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION, PHYSICAL SUSTAINABILITY, AND SPIRITUAL ETHICS IN GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT THEORY
This article introduces a tridimensional framework of development that redefines progress as the intersection of the physical, digital, and spiritual dimensions of human existence. While the physical world is bounded by geography, culture, and ecological limits, the digital world transcends borders, reshaping economies and social structures. The often-neglected spiritual dimension offers the moral and ethical compass necessary for inclusive and sustainable progress. Drawing on globalization theory, critical development studies, and the philosophy of technology, the paper argues that sustainable development must go beyond material growth and digital innovation to embrace ecological stewardship and spiritual ethics. Through comparative case studies from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, it demonstrates how these three dimensions intersect differently across regions. Ultimately, the article proposes a holistic model of development that integrates technological advancement, ecological responsibility, and ethical values, aiming for global justice and sustainability.
