Governance for Global Sustainability: The Synergy of Peace, Diplomacy, and Leadership
This article examines the interconnected roles of peace, diplomacy, and leadership as foundational pillars for sustainable governance in the 21st century. It argues that governance cannot be truly effective without inner and societal peace, diplomacy rooted in ethics rather than narrow economic interests, and leadership that prioritizes long-term resilience over short-term political or financial gains. Through empirical case studies including Colombia’s peace process, Rwanda’s post-genocide reconstruction, and the Nordic governance models the paper demonstrates how the integration of these three elements fosters reconciliation, resilience, and sustainable progress. Positioned within the broader debates on global sustainability, the article highlights how embedding this triad into governance systems, policy frameworks, and educational structures can advance justice, prosperity, and inclusivity worldwide.
