Neo-Pyroraptor: Fundamentos Teóricos para a Recriação Genética de Espécies Extintas

This white paper presents, in an academic and speculative context, the theoretical foundations for the recreation of Pyroraptor olympius, a Late Cretaceous dromaeosaurid. Based on recent advances in genetic engineering, biotechnology, and biomedicine, the study discusses the possibility of reactivating genetic programs still present in modern birds, focusing on traits such as teeth, long tails, claws, and primitive feathers. Beyond technical aspects (host egg selection, key genes, genetic editing methods), the work also addresses biosafety risks, ethical concerns, and potential medical and biotechnological applications. Although entirely hypothetical, the purpose of this study is to organize ideas that may help reflect on the limits of science, the feasibility of “de-extinction,” and its scientific, social, and environmental impacts.
