Golden Saudi Literary Figures: Ahmad Mohammad As-Sebaei Readings in his Contributions
Abstract The autobiography is a literary genre found in world literature. In reading about Saudi literature, I observe that the writing of autobiographies emerged later than in other Arab countries. Several researchers agree that the first attempt at this artistic form was by Ahmed As-Sebaei, who recorded his autobiography entitled Aiyami "My Days." This literary book, considered a pioneer of autobiography in Saudi Arabian literature, is the first autobiography in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study is an attempt to shed light on the literary contribution of As-Sebaei as a Saudi literary figure who greatly influenced the Saudi literary scene for decades. According to its nature as a literary study, the researcher applies the analytical, critical, and descriptive approach. It starts with an introduction and some basic research plans. Then the study moves to explore the main part, which is titled “result and analysis” of an example of As-Sebaei’s literary works called Aiyami - My Days. It ends with discussion, recommendations, and a brief conclusion.
