A Theoretical Framework for Consciousness as a Fundamental Field: Towards a Probabilistic Formalization of CEI Theory
This white paper advances the Consciousness-Energy-Information (CEI) theoretical proposal by introducing a mathematical formalism that distinguishes between the static and dynamic states of consciousness. We hypothesize that a non-local Consciousness Field (C-Field) interacts with physical systems via a fundamental coupling constant (κ), governing the *probability* (P(C)) of conscious experience manifesting. Our static model predicts states of consciousness based on integrated information (Φ_I) and energy density (ρ_E), which together mediate coupling to the C-Field. Our dynamic model introduces a time-evolution equation for P(C) dependent on fluctuations in the C-Field (⟨φ_C⟩) and neural states. This framework generates testable predictions in neuroscience, anesthesiology, and collective consciousness experiments, thereby transitioning the theory from a philosophical narrative into a rigorous empirical research program
