Porcelain Vase in the Yongzheng Style: A 20th-Century Revival
This article examines the artistic characteristics and cultural significance of a porcelain vase inscribed with the mark “Da Qing Yongzheng Nian Zhi” (“Made in the Yongzheng reign of the Qing dynasty”). Despite the imperial mark, stylistic analysis of the enamels, glaze, and color palette indicates that the piece should be classified as a revival artwork from the 20th century, rather than an authentic Yongzheng-period artifact. Such vases are not mere replicas but exemplify the revival and continuation of Qing court aesthetics into modern times, reflecting both the symbolic imperial motifs and the collecting practices of modern Chinese society.
