Current state of the avifauna of Zhytomyr city and its environs. - O.M. Martsun, S.S. Ponomariova. - Berkut. 34 (1). 2025. - Based on own observations in 2015–2025, a list of bird species found in the city of Zhytomyr and its surroundings was compiled, and their status of stay was established. A total of 168 species have been registered, 9 of which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. For 107 species, nesting is confirmed or probable. During the observation period, the following factors have had a negative impact on the study area: disturbance, burning of reeds, pollution, the appearance of private buildings on a significant part of the site, stray domestic and feral cats and dogs. Positive factor: lack of hunting. [Ukrainian].
