Climate Risk Disclosure and Corporate Resilience: A Conceptual Framework
ABSTRACT Climate change presents unprecedented risks to organizations, spanning physical disruptions, regulatory changes, and reputational challenges. In response, climate risk disclosure (CRD) has emerged as a central mechanism for communicating preparedness, accountability, and sustainability strategies. This conceptual paper explores the relationship between CRD and corporate resilience (CR), drawing upon stakeholder theory, legitimacy theory, and the resource-based view (RBV). It argues that transparent disclosure not only enhances stakeholder trust but also strengthens organizational capacity to anticipate, absorb, and adapt to climate-related shocks. A conceptual framework is proposed, linking disclosure to resilience through governance practices, dynamic capabilities, and ESG integration. Managerial implications are outlined for business leaders, regulators, and policymakers. The paper concludes with recommendations for future research, particularly in emerging markets and industry-specific contexts. Keywords: Climate Risk Disclosure, Corporate Resilience, ESG, Sustainability, Risk Management, Governance
