The World Is Not a Wavefunction: The Continuity Theory on Interference, Entanglement, and Context

This paper offers a structural reinterpretation of quantum mechanics within the framework of Continuity Theory. While standard quantum mechanics has become a calculus of probability, unrivalled in predictive success, its concepts are often mistaken for reality itself. Wavefunctions are treated as physical clouds, superposition as many-at-once existence, and entanglement as mysterious action at a distance. In Continuity Theory, probability remains what it is: a powerful tool for reasoning under ignorance. The world itself is not probability but structure unfolding in time. Interference patterns arise from edge-field interactions, not from single particles interfering with themselves. Superposition is understood as a bookkeeping device for uncertainty and boundary conditions, not as a literal coexistence of contradictory states. Schrödinger’s cat is either alive or dead; the superposed wavefunction only summarizes our ignorance. Entanglement is reframed as correlation born from common origin and shared context, while quantum-eraser experiments are explained as information gating rather than retrocausal influence. The paper introduces a family of cosine time-measures—kinematic, gravitational, and geometric—that quantify how motion, potential, and boundary geometry reduce the available time-budget for coherent processes. This framework predicts two concrete experimental signatures: (i) fine fringes controlled by incidence angle at apertures, and (ii) non-zero intensity floors in interference minima after careful background subtraction. In summary, quantum mechanics is preserved as the supreme mathematical engine for probability, while Continuity Theory provides the structural ground on which those probabilities act.
