Photosynthesis Learning and Green Plant Cultivation at Panti Asuhan Putera Bonang Banjarmasin to Increase Environmental Awareness

This community service activity was conducted with the aim of increasing environmental awareness among children at the Panti Asuhan Putera Bonang Banjarmasin through education on photosynthesis and the practical cultivation of green plants. Many children have limited exposure to environmental education, which is crucial for fostering a sense of responsibility toward nature. The program combined interactive learning sessions about the process and importance of photosynthesis with hands-on activities involving the planting and caring for green plants around the orphanage. These activities were designed to be engaging, educational, and directly applicable to their daily lives. The results showed increased enthusiasm and understanding among the participants regarding the role of plants in maintaining environmental balance. Furthermore, the green planting initiative contributed to improving the aesthetic and ecological quality of the orphanage environment. This initiative demonstrates that simple, localized educational interventions can effectively promote sustainable environmental values among young people.
