A Simple Summary of A Mathematical and Experimental Model of the Sefirot as a Conceptual Framework for Hierarchical Energy Decay (V3)

This working paper presents a mathematical and computational exploration of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life (Sefirot) as a conceptual analogue for hierarchical energy decay. Traditionally understood as a mystical diagram of divine emanation, the Sefirot is reinterpreted here as an early symbolic framework for understanding layered systems in which energy and information weaken as they pass through successive stages. The study develops a wavefunction-based mathematical model predicting exponential attenuation across layers and validates this with two computational experiments: Linear Network Simulation – confirmed precise exponential decay per layer. Deep Autoencoder (Neural Network) – demonstrated a similar decay pattern, though moderated by adaptive learning mechanisms. Results show that exponential attenuation is a robust property of layered systems, with different structures yielding distinct decay rates. Extending the model with non-linear connections inspired by the Sefirot suggests richer dynamics, echoing modern architectures in AI (e.g., skip connections). Implications are interdisciplinary: Physics – understanding attenuation in hierarchical structures. AI – addressing vanishing gradient and information loss. Neuroscience – modeling signal degradation in brain hierarchies. Humanities – bridging mystical symbolism and modern science. This paper is not presented as proof of historical intent in Kabbalah but as a contemporary interdisciplinary framework inspired by symbolic structures.
