The Effect of Employees Job Satisfaction On Organizational Commitment in Dire Dawa: The Case Of Dire Dawa Agriculture, Water, Mines & Energy Bureau
One factor that is thought to influence organizational commitment is job satisfaction. Therefore, it stands to reason that a highly contented employee was more dedicated to the company. Thus, the study's main goal is to investigate how organizational commitment in the Dire Dawa Agriculture, Water, Mines & Energy Bureau is impacted by work satisfaction. In order to achieve this, the researcher used a cross-sectional survey inquiry along with a mixed research approach and descriptive and explanatory study designs. The technique of proportionate stratified sampling was utilized. Out of 382 employees, a sample of 195 was chosen using the Taro Yamane sampling determination formula. Both descriptive and ordered logistic regression were taken into consideration as data analysis tools, and both primary and secondary data gathering instruments were employed. The finding of this research shows that there is a poor degree of job satisfaction among the employees in the research area. Furthermore, there is a notable difference in the degree of job satisfaction amongst employees based on their gender. As a result, female employees are happier than male employees. In a similar vein, workers with less experience report feeling more satisfied with their jobs than those with more experience. In order to boost employee motivation in public organizations, managers should provide freedom to workers in carrying out their tasks by providing the resources needed to produce the intended outcome, create a positive work environment, and pay attention to employee commitment by evaluating both financial and non-financial benefit packages.
