Abstract Cloud database migration is essential for scalability, cost savings, and security. However, differentindustries run into hurdles that can make the move tricky—especially Healthcare and finance, where strictrules can cause problems. This study examines how database migration plays out in four industries:Healthcare, finance, retail, and manufacturing. We checked how often migrations succeed, how muchdowntime happens, how much money is saved, and how well systems run after the switch. This studyanalyzed 100 companies through surveys, case studies, and interviews. Our findings show thatHealthcare and finance face more significant challenges due to regulatory hurdles, increasing downtime,and complexity. Retail and manufacturing, by contrast, achieve smoother transitions, cost savings, andimproved system performance. The key takeaway? Industry-specific migration strategies are crucial.Automation reduces disruptions, and post-migration optimization is essential. The study recommendsphased migration for regulated industries, AI-driven automation tools, and compliance-integratedframeworks. These insights help organizations choose the best approach, ensuring efficiency and long-term cloud adoption benefits.
