The E / M / S Model of Existence

Abstract This paper presents the E / M / S Model of Existence, a philosophical framework proposing that all of reality can be understood as the interaction between three fundamental aspects: Energy (E), Matter (M), and Spirit (S). Energy (E∞) is the infinite, uncreated, and indestructible source of all things. Matter (M) is the temporary manifestation or form taken by Energy. Spirit (S) is a unique portion of Energy expressed within Matter — the individual spark of E that gives rise to selfhood, memory, and identity. Spirit is what allows us to feel like “me.” It is not separate from Energy, but a localized piece of it, carried within Matter. When Matter dissolves, Spirit — the smaller piece of Energy — returns to the infinite source, E∞. The model has been tested against religious doctrines (Christianity, Catholicism, Mormonism), philosophical reasoning, and scientific perspectives to evaluate its consistency and universality. Through stress testing, it demonstrates resilience and flexibility while maintaining its core logic.
