An Analytical Comparative Study of Continuous Curvilinear Capsulorhexis and Can-opener Capsulotomy in Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery in Terms of Visual Acuity and Complications
Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness worldwide, with surgical management being the only definitive treatment. This analytical comparative study evaluated the outcomes of Continuous Curvilinear Capsulorhexis (CCC) and Can-opener Capsulotomy in manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS), focusing on visual acuity, anterior chamber depth (ACD), and complications. A total of 120 patients were randomized into two groups of 60 each. Results revealed that CCC provided superior postoperative outcomes with better IOL centration, deeper ACD, fewer complications, and improved long-term visual rehabilitation.
