Application of Accounting & Finance Theories in Freelance Work Environments
This undergraduate research project presents a practical exploration of freelance financial services through the successful execution of three diverse accounting projects, each demonstrating a unique business need and technological solution. The study highlights how freelance professionals can deliver real impact to organizations of varying sizes; ranging from large-scale construction contracting firms to small-scale restaurant operations, by implementing tailored accounting systems and financial controls. The core objective of this project was to apply academic knowledge of accounting and finance in real-world scenarios, using freelancing platforms and direct contracts to secure and complete actual bookkeeping and system setup projects. The work spanned across three businesses. Each project offered a distinct operational context, equipment leasing, property rental, and food service, allowing for a comparative analysis of accounting needs and implementation strategies.
